Mason Bees

We bought some Mason Bees earlier this week at Mother Earth Garden's.  It was larvae in a tube that you'd put outside in a bee nest for solitary bees.  The Man had won a very nice bamboo nest when he attended a bee attracting flower seminar earlier this spring.  With The Girl's being sick, The Man immobilized and then having surgery and our basement freezer giving out and leaving us with a mess, we forgot about putting the bees outside and there they sat, larvae inside a cardboard tube, inside a plastic bag, sitting on the kitchen counter.  The Boy found a bee in the kitchen and we discovered the Mason bees were more than ready for the outside world.  The Boy brought them out and introduced them to their new home where they quickly went inside the lovely bamboo tubes.

Hopefully they'll help with pollination and  be a nice companion to our honeybees.
